The Lummi boys' basketball team won its sixth consecutive Northwest League 1B game with a 50-27 victory over Lopez at home Tuesday, Jan. 8.

"Our bench did a great job tonight," Lummi coach Jerome Toby said in a phone interview. "They really came out and contributed. They had the chance to play and were great."

Lummi (9-1, 6-0 NWC) was led by Kavarez Lane, who scored 11 points, and Joe Brady, who scored eight.

"Lane was a spark plug off the bench," Toby said. "He came in and was really solid taking care of the ball tonight."

Lummi hosts Tulalip Heritage on Friday, Jan. 11.
