Can government of, by and for the people really work? Is a congress, executive and court system the best way to manage our affairs? Why is there so much reverence for the American Constitution of 1787 and its amendments? Our destructive financial and military industrial activities are not responsive to democratic control. The empire builders can send an unmanned drone to kill anyone they dislike. After foreclosure, home owners can sleep in the park. It's the land of the free. The Second Amendment is part of the holy writ that must not be reviewed.
Why is Canada not killing people with drones? Why are their children safe in schools? Why is medical care available to all? Why can they have an election with only a few weeks of bombast? It is because a parliamentary system is responsive to the people. America responds to the war hawks, the gun and armament industries and Wall Street bankers.
A constitutional convention is a periodic review similar to those used in business, schools, churches, and many families. It's a time to examine the systems we all depend upon and to make the changes that are needed.
