BELLINGHAM Strong winds are forecasted to sweep through northwest Washington starting Tuesday afternoon, Jan. 8.
Gusts of 50 mph are likely along a good chunk of the northwest coast of the state, from Blaine to Port Townsend, according to a wind advisory issued by the National Weather Service in Seattle. It should get less blustery late in the evening.
The wind could pull down small trees and branches. So it might be smart to break out the flashlights and candles early, in case the power goes out.
In other weather news, snow levels are predicted to sink to 400 feet by early Saturday. The NWS forecasts a mix of rain and snow this weekend for the Bellingham area.
