Riley helps Team USA win cross country race in Scotland

Former Sehome standout Jake Riley placed seventh in the men's 8-kilometer race at the BUPA Great Edinburgh Cross Country International Team Challenge in Edinburgh, Scotland, on Jan. 5.

Riley was second for Team USA, finishing in a time of 24 minutes, 50 seconds, 23 seconds behind the overall champion and top American Bobby Mack. Mack and Riley led Team USA to a first-place finish in the team category, edging Europe and Great Britain.

Riley is coming off a title at the USATF Club Cross Country Championship weeks ago.

Riley's next major competition is the USA Cross Country Championships in St. Louis in February.
