A little more than 10 months ago, they posed shoulder-to-shoulder on the court at the Yakima SunDome, celebrating twin state championships. On Friday, Jan. 11, the Lynden Christian and Lynden boys' basketball teams will go head-to-head in a Northwest Conference game.
The defending Class 1A and Class 2A state champions are scheduled to tip off at 7:30 p.m. on Friday at Lynden's Jake Maberry Gymnasium. The game will follow the 5:45 p.m. girls' basketball game between the Lyncs and Lions, who also each won state trophies last March in Yakima.
Lynden is pre-selling tickets to the games from 8 a.m. to 2:30 p.m. Tuesday through Friday, Jan. 8-11.
SILENT AUCTION
The Meridian Booster Club will hold a mini silent auction during the Trojans' Northwest Conference game against Ferndale at 7:15 p.m. on Friday, Jan. 11 to raise money to go toward the Coaches vs. Cancer Week in late January.
According to an email from Booster Club president Randall Kirk, there will be between 12 and 15 items up for auction, including a basketball signed by Western Washington's 2012 NCAA Division II National Championship team.
For more information or to make donation, contact Kirk at 360-820-0317.
