Lummi girls fall short on the road

Published: January 5, 2013

The Lummi girls' basketball team lost on the road 58-22 to Grace Academy on Friday, Jan. 4, in a Northwest League 1B game.

"We were totally flat, especially mentally," Lummi coach Woody Bakke said in a phone interview. "They were aggressive and we got into foul trouble early and were on our heels. We are a young team with lots of heart and desire and we need to be committed to each other in games and at practice."

Lummi (1-7, 1-4 NL1B) was led in scoring by Treena Humphreys, who scored eight points, and Samantha Wilson, who scored four.

Lummi hosts Lopez on Tuesday, Jan. 8.
