The Skagit Eagle Festival that starts Saturday, Jan. 5, is a monthlong event that celebrates the return of the eagles to eastern Skagit County. Weekend activities, mostly free, are held through Jan. 27, with eagle-watching a main focus in Concrete, Rockport and Marblemount.
The festival information station is in the Concrete Center, 45821 Railroad Ave., in Concrete. Brochures, maps, souvenirs, arts and crafts, free coffee and restrooms are available from 9 a.m. to 4 p.m. every Saturday and Sunday in January. Details: skagiteaglefestival.com, 360-853-8784.
