The Mount Baker boys' basketball team jumped out to a big first-quarter lead in its 54-26 win over Concrete in a non-conference game Friday, Dec. 28, at Mount Baker High School.
"We got out to a fast start with a 20-2 margin in the first quarter," Mount Baker coach Rob Gray said in a phone interview. "I think after that we started to play to their level a little bit. I think we turned the ball over more than we wanted to but a win is a win."
Mount Baker was led by Andrew Zender, who scored 14 points and had six rebounds, and Dalton Munsell, who scored 11 points, all in the first half.
Mount Baker hosts Nooksack Valley in a Northwest Conference game on Friday, Jan. 4.
