Lyncs defense propels them to 63-20 win in Classic

The Lynden Christian boys' basketball team defeated Sultan 63-20 in the Cloud 9 Sports Lynden Christmas Classic on Friday, Dec. 28.

"I was really pleased with how we came out defensively after a long drag out game last night," Lynden Christian coach Roger DeBoer said in a phone interview. "We wondered what our legs would be like and I was proud of the team's effort and how we defended."

The Lyncs (7-3) held Sultan to only three points in the second and third quarters combined, while scoring 35 points of their own.

Isaac Reimer led the Lyncs with 26 points, 12 rebounds and five blocked shots.

"Isaac really showed why he was the 1A state player last year," DeBoer said.

Lynden Christian will play at Burlington-Edison on Thursday, Jan. 3, in a Northwest Conference game.
