The Burke Museum and the Archaeological Institute of America will hold its Archaeology Day on Jan. 5.

Activities include:

 • The chance to see the Egyptian mummy from the Burke Museum’s collection.

 • Viewing unique artifacts found in the Puget Sound region.

 • Trying out techniques that Vikings used to make yarn and cloth.

 • Trying your hand at the ancient hunting skill of atlatl throwing.

The annual event is being held in partnership with the AIA’s 13th annual Archaeology Fair.

It runs from 10 a.m.-4 p.m. at the Burke Museum of Natural History and Culture, at the corner of Northeast 45th Street and 17th Avenue Northeast in Seattle.

Admission is $10 general, $8 seniors, $7.50 students/youths. Admission is free to children 4 and younger, Burke members, UW students, faculty and staff.
