Group effort gives Lummi boys 65-52 win over Muckleshoot

Published: December 28, 2012

The Lummi boys' basketball team defeated Muckleshoot 65-52 in a non-conference game Thursday, Dec. 27, at Lummi High School.

"We didn't start off very well, but we woke up in the second quarter," Lummi coach Jerome Toby said in a phone interview. "We found our rhythm on the defensive end and held them to six points in the second and that led to us getting into an offensive rhythm."

Lummi (6-1) was outscored 11-5 in the first quarter but came back to lead 26-17 at halftime.

"It was a solid team effort and a lot of guys contributed," Toby said. "It was pleased with our balance and being unselfish with the ball. It was a good win against a good ball club."

Lummi will next play Friday, Jan. 4, against Grace Academy.
