Ashley Spink led the Bellingham girls' basketball team with 15 points in its 58-46 win over Oak Harbor in the Prostock Winter Classic on Thursday, Dec. 27, in Bellingham.
"Spink's defense in the second half really set the tone for us defensively," Bellingham coach Brad McKay said in a phone interview. "Ashley and Carleen Syth held Oak Harbor's best player to just five points in the second half. Giving up only 19 points in the second gave us a chance to build a lead and close out the game."
Joelle Zamora added 14 points for Bellingham and Alyssa Porter scored 13 and had six rebounds.
Bellingham will play Cedarcrest in the Classic on Friday, Dec. 28.
