The Nooksack Valley girls' basketball team lost 55-46 to Zillah in the Lakewood Tournament on Thursday, Dec. 27.
"It was a close game," Nooksack Valley coach Shane Wichers said in a phone interview. "They are a physical and aggressive team. There was a couple-minute stretch that we turned the ball over and they would score. We had our chances, just didn't convert them."
The Pioneers were led by Melissa Stadt, who scored 18 points and had seven rebounds.
Nooksack will play a team to be determined in the Lakewood Tournament on Friday, Dec. 28.
