An unruly guest was arrested on suspicion of attacking the residents of a Bellingham-area home with a knife on Christmas night.
Floyd Edward Marcrum, 31, of California, had "too much to drink" at a home in the 1000 block of Cedar Hills Avenue, west of Geneva, where he was staying with a relative for the holidays, said Whatcom County Sheriff's Office Sgt. Larry Flynn.
Marcrum became belligerent and hostile with people in the house, whipped out a knife and made death threats when they tried to calm him down, Flynn said.
After a scuffle, one tenant escaped to another room. Marcrum tried to hack through the door, Flynn said. Then the suspect allegedly went outside and drove off in someone else's pickup truck.
Police found Marcrum parked at the 7-Eleven on Lakeway Drive. He was standing beside the truck, bleeding from a wound to his hand. He received stitches at St. Joseph hospital before deputies booked him into jail at 1 a.m. Wednesday, Dec. 26.
Marcrum is accused of assault in the second degree, felony harassment and theft of a vehicle.
