The Blaine boys' basketball team fell into an early hole and could never recover against Anacortes. They suffered a 68-35 Northwest Conference loss Friday, Dec. 21, in Blaine.
"Anacortes is a great squad, and they did a good job of playing tight man-to-man defense," Blaine coach Shaun Pile said in a phone interview. "They got us out of what we wanted to run, and we got in a big deficit. You got to give credit to Anacortes."
Blaine's Josiah Westbrook scored a team-high eight points, and Gabe Trump added seven and a team-high five boards. Anacortes' A.J. Yost led the Seahawks with 17 points.
Blaine (2-6, 1-2 NWC) will host the Blaine Holiday Invite on Friday, Dec. 28.
