The Lynden boys' basketball team overcame a first-quarter deficit to defeat Burlington-Edison 61-33 in a Northwest Conference game Friday, Dec. 21, at home.
"Burlington came out and took it strong to the basket," Lynden coach Brian Roper said in a phone interview. "I thought as the game wore on our athletes were able to wear them down. We were able to dominate the boards and get more second chance shots."
Lynden (6-0, 3-0 NWC) was led in scoring by Dak Shagren, who scored 18 points and had eight rebounds and four assists, and John Shine who scored 16 points.
"Shine was really efficient for us," Roper said. "Shagren had a big game. He fills up the stat sheet and does it at both ends for us."
Lynden will play in Kent against Tahoma Saturday, Dec. 22.
