Ferndale falls late in fourth quarter to Oak Harbor

Published: December 22, 2012

The Ferndale boys' basketball team lost 60-56 at home to Oak Harbor in a non-conference game Friday, Dec. 21.

"Both teams played back to back games and the shooting percentages were not that good," Ferndale coach Monte Walton said in a phone interview. "Both teams just didn't have legs. For us to shoot that poorly in the our gym was disappointing. We had a tough game last night against Sedro and we were flat tonight."

The Golden Eagles (4-5, 2-1 NWC) were led in scoring by Austin Honeycutt and Lukas Melton, who each scored 13 points.

The teams went into the final quarter tied at 42, but Ferndale didn't shoot the ball well and was out of position on defense, Walton said.

Ferndale will next participate in the Mountlake Terrace Tournament on Friday, Dec. 28.
