Honeycutt, Ferndale girls' basketball earn 40-37 win

Published: December 19, 2012

Linsey Honeycutt led the Ferndale girls' basketball team with 16 points in a 40-37 Northwest Conference game against Burlington-Edison, Tuesday, Dec. 18, in Ferndale.

"We did a good job in the first quarter holding them to one basket," Ferndale coach Mike Ivy said in a phone interview. "We had a really hard time guarding Ellary Torset, but I brought Kodie Euper in and she really shut her down."

Koral Weidkamp added eight points for Ferndale (6-0, 2-0 NWC).

"They really dominated the boards on us," Ivy said. "But we knew it was going to be a great game, and it was a hard fought win against a really good team."

Ferndale next travels to Sedro-Woolley on Thursday, Dec. 20, for a Northwest Conference game.
