The Lummi girls' basketball team lost 54-20 at Shoreline Christian on Tuesday, Dec. 18.
"We played a very experienced team, and they have three really solid players," Lummi coach Woody Bakke said in a phone interview. "They were pretty aggressive but our girls stepped up and were equally aggressive. This was one of the better teams we have seen."
Lummi (0-6, 0-3) was led by Treena Humphreys, who scored nine points, and Dawn James, who scored seven.
"We had a lot of individuals step up and surprise us," Bakke said. "We're in the process of rebuilding and we're young."
Lummi hosts Highland Christian on Friday, Dec. 21.
