An 11-2 run in the second quarter gave the Lynden girls' basketball team a big lead and the Lions went on to beat visiting Squalicum 49-35 in Northwest Conference action on Monday, Dec. 17.
The win improved the Lions to 5-2, 2-0 NWC while the Storm dropped to 0-7, 0-2 NWC.
Lynden led by as many as 17 points in the game.
Kaitlyn Mark came off the bench and had five points, 10 rebounds and four assists for the Lions.
"We had some kids that were under the weather and we played 10 kids off the bench and all scored," Lynden coach Rob Adams said in a phone interview.
Stephanie Somers led the Lions with 15 points. Jessica Greene led the Storm with 13 points.
Lynden next travels to play Burlington-Edison on Friday, Dec. 21.
