Just a note to fellow residents of Bellingham; the police don't always come when you call 911. I don't know if anyone else has experienced this, but don't get your hopes up if you call them. This has happened to me three times.
I am aware that the police have more important things to do besides check out a stranger in an apartment complex going door to door trying to get in (the dispatcher actually tried to tell me the guy might just be visiting); or thanks to our wonderful hidden, unlighted and unchecked in any way trail system, my neighbors and I watched drug deals and usage on a daily basis even before pot was made legal.
True, these are not life-threatening acts, but do we have to wait until they are? Maybe if the police could come at least once in a while so the people doing these things might think twice and not be so blatant about it. Maybe we need another phone number besides 911.
I'm tired of turning a blind eye to illegal activity that's going on literally in my back yard. Pot is legal but not outside and, gosh, maybe they are doing more than pot. I feel totally exposed to whatever anybody wants to do around me with no help.
