Kyle Mark and Scott Hastings gave the Lynden boys' basketball team a boost off the bench, as the Lions rolled to a 66-38 Northwest Conference win against Bellingham Friday, Dec. 14, in Lynden.
Mark came off the bench and promptly hit three 3-pointers, and Hastings blocked four shots and grabbed five rebounds.
"Kyle Mark came off the bench and gave us a big spark," Lynden coach Brian Roper said in a phone interview. "I thought we got good production off our bench from Scooter (Hastings) also. He did a good job in the post."
Lynden led 16-13 at the end of the first quarter but outscored the Red Raiders 19-7 in the second quarter. Bellingham's Nick Zeegers scored a team-high nine points. Lynden's Dak Shagren scored a team-high 14 points, Matt Meyer scored 13 and John Shine added 12.
Bellingham hosts Lynden Christian on Tuesday, Dec. 18, while Lynden travels to Squalicum for Northwest Conference games.
