The Lynden Christian girls' basketball team defeated Burlington-Edison 53-38 in a non-conference game on Tuesday, Dec. 11, at Burlington-Edison High School.
"Our girls focused defensively on Swanson and Brown and between the two of them they made one field goal tonight," Lynden Christian coach Curt DeHaan said in a phone interview. "I was really pleased with our defensive effort. We shot the ball really well tonight too."
The Lyncs (4-1) were led by Courtney Hollander, who scored 13 points, and Sally Vlas, who scored 11 and had five assists.
"Besides being our leading scorer, Courtney shot the ball 6 for 7 times," DeHaan said. "Sally did well, too, and I thought our post girls did well inside. We shot well from the perimeter and the inside."
Lynden Christian travels to Blaine to begin conference play Friday, Dec. 14.
