Published: December 12, 2012

Linsey Honeycutt led the Ferndale girls' basketball team with 18 points and 15 rebounds to a 57-41 win at Anacortes on Tuesday, Dec. 11, in a non-conference game.

"Honeycutt had a monstrous second half with 14 points," Ferndale coach Mike Ivy said in a phone interview. "We did a really good job getting the ball into the post tonight."

Hannah Carlson added 12 points for the Golden Eagles (4-0) and Taryn Knutson scored 10.

"Taryn did a great job coming in off the bench for us," Ivy said. "Both of our guards were in foul trouble early and the bench did good for us. Anacortes played hard and it was close at halftime."

Ferndale outscored Anacortes 22-4 in the third quarter and only allowed Anacortes to score from the free throw line.

Ferndale travels to Mount Baker on Friday, Dec. 14.
