The Lummi boys' basketball team defeated Lopez 50-27 in a Northwest 1B game on Tuesday, Dec. 11, at Lopez High School.
"It was a tough shooting night for both teams," Lummi coach Jerome Toby said in a phone interview. "We were able to grind out the win even though we didn't shoot well. I think our defense was the factor."
Lummi (3-0 overall, 2-0 league) was led by Kevin Cultee, who scored 11 points, and Joe Brady, who scored eight.
"It was a balanced scoring night for us," Toby said. "Everybody shared the basketball and got in the scoring column."
Lummi will play at Cedar Park Christian on Wednesday, Dec. 12.
