The Lynden Christian boys' basketball team defeated Burlington-Edison 67-56 in a non-conference game, Tuesday, Dec. 11, at Lynden Christian High School.

The Lyncs were led by Daulton Hommes, who scored 27 points and had 11 rebounds and seven assists, and Isaac Reimer, who had 18 points, 10 rebounds and 11 blocks.

"It was a hard fought battle," Lynden Christian coach Roger DeBoer said in a phone interview. "Reimer spent a good portion on the bench but still had a triple double and Daulton had a career night and a good one for a sophomore."

DeBoer credited Nathan Meppelink's defense on Daron Browning as a key factor in the win.

"I think Browning is a top player in the conference and Nathan did a tremendous job holding him," DeBoer said. "I was also pleased with the poise we showed after Reimer fouled out."

Lynden Christian hosts Blaine on Friday, Dec. 14, to begin conference play.
