Ferndale falls 64-49 at Anacortes in boys' basketball

Published: December 11, 2012

The Ferndale boys' basketball team lost 64-49 in a non-conference game at Anacortes on Monday, Dec. 10.

The Golden Eagles (2-3) were led by Austin Honeycutt, who scored 16 points.

"Austin was a bright spot for us," Ferndale coach Monte Walton said in a phone interview. "He was 7-11 for 16 points and played a really solid game."

Ferndale turned the ball over 26 times.

"When you turn the ball over that many times you are not going to win many games," Walton said. "We were sloppy tonight, but credit to Anacortes, they made us play sloppy at times."

Ferndale hosts Mount Baker on Friday, Dec. 14, to open regular season play.
