The Lynden girls' basketball team defeated Mount Baker 50-39 in a non-conference game Monday, Dec. 10, at Mount Baker High School.
Lynden (3-2) was led by Kelsey Bouwman, who had 15 points, and Stephanie Somers, who had 11 points and 12 rebounds.
The teams played even in the first half with the score tied at 20-20 at halftime.
"We struggled to match (Mount Baker's) intensity," Lynden coach Rob Adams said in a phone interview.
The Lions responded in the second half, which included a 13-6 scoring advantage in the fourth quarter.
The Mountaineers (3-2) were led by Jessa Baisden's 12 points and Emma Lallas' 11 points.
Lynden will play at Bellingham on Friday, Dec. 14, while Mount Baker hosts Ferndale.
