Ben Garcia scored seven 3-pointers and had 31 points to lead the Squalicum boys' basketball team to a 71-58 win at Bellingham in a non-conference game on Monday, Dec. 10.
"Ben shot the ball really well," Squalicum coach Dave Dickson said in a phone interview. "I thought Tre Clark took advantage of his opportunities and gave us a spark at point guard."
Clark added 23 points for the Storm (4-2).
Bellingham (4-3) was led by Kyle Redmond, who scored 17 points, and Kailen Hayes, who scored 12.
"It was a hard-fought rivalry game," Dickson said. "We took an early lead but Bellingham came storming back and had a lead at halftime. We were able to take the lead and keep it the rest of the game. There were a lot of turnovers, but both teams played really hard."
Bellingham will play at Lynden on Friday, Dec. 14, while Squalicum hosts Burlington-Edison.
