Kailen Hayes scored 24 points off the bench to help lead the Bellingham boys' basketball team to a 68-60 non-conference win against Marysville-Getchell Saturday, Dec. 8, in Marysville.
The Red Raiders took a 24-13 first-quarter lead, and outscored Getchell 22-13 in the final 8 minutes.
"Hayes came off the bench and had a really nice ball game," Bellingham coach Ken Crawford said in a phone interview. "He had 24 and 17 of those were in the second half. He scored 11 fourth-quarter points."
Tristan Hurley and Nick Zeegers scored 12 points, and Alex Check and Kyle Redmond added eight in the win.
Bellingham hosts city-rival Squalicum next at 7:15 p.m. Monday, Dec. 10.
