The Sehome girls' basketball team rebounded from a loss Friday to Lynden to win 54-44 on Saturday, Dec. 8, at Marysville-Pilchuck.
Rachel Albert had 16 points, 17 rebounds and three assists and Hallie Messenger had 18 points, which included four 3-pointers.
The Mariners asserted themselves early by taking a 23-11 first-quarter lead.
"We (started) with a lot of energy and that's really been our key," Sehome coach Kim Kirk said in a phone interview. "We came off a tough loss last night and I was happy to see us bounce back tonight."
Sehome (3-3) travels to play at Sedro-Woolley next at 7:15 p.m. Friday, Dec. 14.
