Guard John Allen became the 23rd player in Western Washington University men's basketball history to reach the 1,000-point mark en route to a game-high 24 points, leading the nationally ranked Vikings to a 117-52 win against Quest University B.C., in a non-conference game Saturday afternoon, Dec. 8, at Sam Carver Gymnasium.

The defending NCAA Division II national champion Vikings, ranked No. 6 in this week's National Association of Basketball Coaches Top 25 Poll, remain unbeaten at 7-0 and have won 13 straight games over the last two seasons.

The 117 points and the 65-point margin of victory were both the most since the 2008-09 season.

Quest fell to 4-6. Guard Jose Colorado, the leading scorer among Canadian small colleges at 27.8 points per game, led the Kermodes with 12 points.

The Vikings trailed only at 2-0 and 4-2. After missing 8 of their first 12 shots from the field, they hit their next seven to open up a 23-6 lead a little over seven minutes into the game. The margin extended to 35-10 with 7:43 left in the first half and WWU held a 54-24 advantage at halftime.

Forward Paul Jones had 15 points and a game-high 14 rebounds for the Vikings, who shot 59.3 percent (48-of-81) from the field and had a 56-25 advantage on the boards.

Forward Austin Bragg had 14 points for the Vikings. Guard Dane Thorpe had 13 points on 5-of-7 field-goal shooting, and guard Rico Wilkins added 12 on four 3-pointers.

Allen reached the 1,000-point plateau on an eight-foot pull-up 4:32 into the game, becoming just the fifth Viking who did not play four seasons at WWU to reach the mark. He finished the day with 1,021 career points, which puts him 21st in school history, just three points behind current assistant coach Rob Visser.

WWU is now 4-0 at home this season and has a 14-game home winning streak.

WWU next competes in the South Point Holiday Hoops Classic in Las Vegas, Nevada, and faces Drury MO at 5 p.m. Tuesday, Dec. 18.
