Outlook: The Red Raiders return their three leading scorers from last season in Check (12.1 points per game), Redmond (8.7) and Zeegers (8.3) for Year 2 of Crawford's second term at Bellingham. "Last year, I think we were cutting our teeth," Crawford said in a phone interview. "We were kind of learning what we had and what was expected. The expectations are higher, and the standards are higher this year, as far as execution and consistency." With nobody taller than 6-foot-3 listed on the roster, Bellingham will rely on its quickness and smarts - making sure it takes good shots. "We've got to have more consistency this year," Crawford said. "Last year, I felt we'd play some good basketball, but we usually played it for three out of four quarters. ... We've got to be more consistent and play all 32 minutes, but I thought we laid a good foundation for what is expected last year." Bellingham figures to make improvements this year. Whether that translates into the Red Raiders grabbing one of four 2A postseason berths out the NWC - only time will tell.
