The Lynden Christian boys' basketball team defeated Northwest Christian 71-41 in the Christian Cup consolation bracket Friday, Dec. 7, in Gilbert, Ariz.
"We came out a lot loser and more aggressive than yesterday," Lynden Christian coach Roger DeBoer said in a phone interview. "Our full court pressure created a lot of opportunities for us. I think forcing turnovers was the ultimate difference."
The Lyncs (2-1) were led by Isaac Reimer with 24 points and eight rebounds and Truman Van Dalen, who had five points, six assists and three steals.
"Obviously Reimer did a good job in the post," DeBoer said. "But I was really pleased with Truman on both ends of the court. He really set the tone passing the ball and defending. He did a great job for us tonight. I was proud of how much we shared it and got 20 assists."
Lynden Christian will play Brethren Christian from California in the consolation championship game Saturday, Dec. 8.
