Outlook: New coach Woody Bakke has big plans for the Blackhawks this season. He is hoping to implement a true team atmosphere where trust and an "all for one and one for all" attitude is a staple in the Lummi girls' program. The Blackhawks' biggest loss is Amanda Humphreys, who averaged a team-high 11 points per game last year. Bakke said the offense will go through junior Dawn James (6.8 points per game last year) and newcomer senior Samantha Wilson. Lummi also returns Kayla Dennis (7.2) for her senior season. "In general, the girls are in a rebuilding phase," Bakke said in a phone interview. "We are holding a high standard of integrity for each player we have. We are a family, so we want team balance, trust in each other and trust in us (coaches)." Bakke said he wants to find ways to have every player on his team contribute. "It's starting to gel and take form," he said.
