Bellingham girls' basketball team falls 48-36

Published: December 6, 2012

The Bellingham girls' basketball lost 48-36 to a team from Mandurah (Australia) on Wednesday, Dec. 5, in Bellingham.

The Red Raiders (2-2) were led by Olivia Halverson and Alyssa Porter, who each scored eight points.

"They were scrappy and they were really tall," Bellingham coach Brad McKay said in a phone interview. "We were unable to rebound the ball very well. Once we started shooting poorly we couldn't make up for it."

Bellingham was outrebounded 41-24.

The Red Raiders will play at Nooksack Valley on Friday, Dec. 7, in a non-conference game.
