Whatcom County residents are asked to comment online on a long-range plan for future growth that eventually could be put into practice by governments, businesses and other local institutions.
The draft report is intended to blend the interests of businesses and the broader community as it charts development over the next 20-plus years. The report and a link for commenting can be found at nwecon.org/whatcomfuturesproject/vision-statements.
For more information, call the Northwest Economic Council, 360-676-4255.
Whatcom Futures picks up where the ill-fated Legacy Project ended, in 2010. The council received a $125,000 grant from the Whatcom Community Foundation to lead the effort.
