The Meridian boys' basketball team defeated Mount Baker 48-31 in a non-conference game on Monday, Dec. 3, at Meridian High School.
The Trojans outscored Mount Baker in every quarter but only shot 15 for 61 from the field.
"We obviously didn't shoot the ball well," Meridian coach Shane Stacy said in a phone interview. "I think we settled for a lot of low percentage shots. From half court in we were basically low percentage."
Meridian was led by Alijah Garcia, who scored 13 points and Chad Richter, who scored 12.
"I thought our energy level was lacking," Stacy said.
The Mountaineers were led by Reuben Murashov who scored 16 points and had five rebounds.
The Mountaineers (0-1) will host Blaine on Tuesday, Dec. 4, while Meridian (2-0) travels to Bellingham.
