We have seen several letters to the editor bemoaning the fact that Obama was re-elected. You would think an apocalypse is coming based on the opinions expressed.

Are we really going to get huge taxes? No, Obama wants to restore historical tax rates on the top money makers in our country. Are we going to lose wars because of a weak military? The U.S. military is still the most powerful in the world. Under Obama the military finally caught Bin Laden. Our war machines are ready, if we need them, but remember, we don't make friends because of them.

I could list 10 improvements that have happened under Obama if I had space. Here is one:

When I receive my credit card bill every month, I am told exactly what I owe, the minimum required amount I must pay, how many years it will take if I only pay the minimum, and how much interest it will cost me. These figures are all in nice bold letters. The Obama administration has required credit card companies to be clear about this information and not hide it in tiny print. I like that.

These unhappy writers need to keep up with the times. Besides reading newspapers and watching news stations, they can also log on to sources like Factcheck.org from Pennsylvania State University. Yes, we have the freedom to stay ignorant, but who wants to? That won't help with our fears.

So Obama got elected. People around the world cheered.
