NATURE: Talk details wonders of the Dolomites in Italy

Published: December 2, 2012

The Dolomites of Italy will be the subject at the next Adventure Presentation of the Olympia Mountaineers.

Olympia resident Kevin Head will share stories and photos from the trip he and his wife, Julia Brayshaw, took in 2011 to the Dolomites and Gran Paradiso. He will talk about the Dolomite ecosystems and flower meadows.

In 2009, the Dolomites was recognized as a UNESCO World Heritage Site for its mountains and unique ecosystems.

Head is a teacher in the North Thurston Public Schools at South Sound High School.

The event begins at 6 p.m. with a potluck dinner and social hour. The program will begin at 7 p.m. at The Olympia Center, 222 Columbia St. NW, in Rooms 101-102.

Attendees are asked to bring a dish to share for the meal, plus their own plate and flatware.
