Published: December 1, 2012

The Ferndale girls' basketball team defeated Squalicum 69-25 in a non-conference game Friday, Nov. 30, in Ferndale.

"We got off to a good start and were super aggressive," Ferndale coach Mike Ivy said in a phone interview. "Squalicum took it right at us in the second quarter. We came out from halftime and were a little more conservative."

The Golden Eagles were led by Linsey Honeycutt, who scored 16, and Hannah Carlson, who scored 15.

"Carlson played a great game and scored in all four quarters," Ivy said. "Reid had seven steals and led the floor really well. Kodie Euper had eight rebounds, which was huge for us."

Squalicum was led by Sam Starr, who scored seven points.

Squalicum is now 0-2 and will play at Sehome on Tuesday, Dec. 4, at 7:15 p.m. in a non-conference game, while Ferndale (1-0) will host Lynden Christian in a non-conference game.
