Linneman, Sehome defeat Nooksack Valley boys' basketball 81-39

Published: December 1, 2012

The Sehome boys' basketball team won 81-39 at Nooksack Valley in a non-conference game Friday, Nov. 30.

"Our goal was to come out and pressure them," Sehome coach A.J. LaBree said in a phone interview. "They are a young team but they dealt with the pressure early, but our full-court pressure took over and we were able to get some easy layups. We went up by 20 and maintained from there."

The Mariners were led by Charlie Linneman, who scored 20 points, and Miksovsky, who scored 16.

The Pioneers were led by Brandon Gwinner, who scored 11 points.

"Gwinner had a good night," Nooksack Valley coach Tyler Mitchell said in a phone interview. "He did a nice job and played a majority of the minutes. He did a good job of handling pressure. We had some bright spots, but we just couldn't do it on a consistent basis."

Sehome is now 2-0 and will play at Squalicum in a non-conference game Monday, Dec. 3, at 7:15 p.m., while Nooksack Valley (0-2) travels to La Conner on Tuesday, Dec. 4, at 7:30 p.m.
