Bellingham boys' basketball falls to Anacortes 70-52

Published: November 30, 2012

The Bellingham boys' basketball team lost at home 70-52 to Anacortes in a non-conference game on Thursday, Nov. 29.

"We just did not finish tonight," Bellingham coach Ken Crawford said in a phone interview. "We must have missed a dozen layups in the first half and you can't do that against a good team like Anacortes. We gave ourselves the opportunity, we just didn't take advantage of it."

Bellingham was led by Nick Zeegers, who scored 14 points and Alex Check, who scored 8. Darice Haywood added 7 more for the Red Raiders.

"We had some glimpses of good things, but didn't have a standout," Crawford said. "We are going to have to learn how to improve on the run because we have a lot of games in the next week and no practices."

The Red Raiders (0-2) host SW Metro Pirates from Australia on Monday, Dec. 3.
