Furniture wanted for Whatcom County families leaving homelessness

Published: November 28, 2012

A program that gives furniture to needy Whatcom County residents is seeking donations and volunteers for its second annual "12 Days of Deliveries," which runs Dec. 10 through Dec. 21.

On those days, House 2 Home Network hopes to deliver furniture to 30 homes of families coming out of homelessness.

The network is a program of Whatcom Volunteer Center and serves as a virtual furniture bank in which volunteers pick up items that have been donated and deliver them to families in need.

During last year's 12-day effort, volunteers delivered 38 items to 22 different homes, according to a news release from the Volunteer Center.

To donate furniture or to volunteer, contact Abby Lund at 360-224-7185 or abbyl@whatcomvolunteer.org. Lund is the coordinator for House 2 Home Network.
