Blazers lose by one goal to Glacier in hockey action

Published: November 26, 2012

The Bellingham Blazers took on the Glacier Nationals Saturday, Nov. 24, and lost 2-1 in a back-and-forth contest at the Bellingham Sportsplex in Tier III junior hockey action.

"Our boys showed a lot of heart tonight and never gave up. We just didn't get any bounces and gave up a few too many scoring chances," Bellingham coach Mark Collins said.

The first period remained scoreless, but included many close shots on goal with the Blazers. Cody Foster saved 15 shots in the first period for Bellingham.

The Blazers almost scored a goal a few minutes into the second, but the net was knocked off of its posts before the puck entered it so the point was deemed null. Glacier took a 1-0 lead at the end of the second period.

The Nationals extended their lead just minutes into the third. The Blazers scored with 35 seconds left when Bryce Kenning scored with an assist by Kevin Duncan.

Foster saved 34 shots on goal.
