MARINE LIFE: Program offers look at research on whales

John Calambokidis of the Cascadia Research Collective will share new observations of whale movements, underwater behavior and human impacts identifued in recent research off the West Coast.

He will give his presentation, “The Wonderful World of Whales,” at 7 p.m. Tuesday at the REI store in Olympia.

Calambokidis is a founder and senior research biologist at Olympia-based Cascadia Research, and has studied whales for more than 30 years.

His presentation will include a discussion of the recent changes in the occurrence of marine mammals in Puget Sound.
