Ferndale seeks planning commissioners

Published: November 24, 2012

FERNDALE - The city seeks to fill at least two seats on the Planning Commission by the first of the year.

Commissioner Tim Cornwell has moved outside the city limits and will be replaced. City residents interested in his seat should complete their applications by Friday, Dec. 7.

Rick LaFave will not seek reappointment when his term expires this year, Mayor Gary Jensen said.

Three other terms on the commission also conclude at the end of the year. These members have committed at least verbally to seeking reappointment, Jensen said, but the mayor will accept new applications for all four positions with terms ending this year. The deadline for these seats is Dec. 28.

More information and the application are at cityofferndale.org.

The commission recommends zoning, planning and shoreline regulations to the City Council.
