Western Washington University outside hitter Marlayna Geary and libero Samantha Hutchinson have been selected to the 2012 American Volleyball Coaches Association NCAA Division II West Region All-Star Team.

Receiving honorable mention was Viking setter Laurie Yearout.

Geary, who earlier was named Great Northwest Athletic Conference Player of the Year, ranks 14th nationally in kills (4.16 avg. per set) and 15th in points (4.76). Last year she received AVCA regional honorable mention.

Hutchinson, the GNAC Defensive Player of the Year, ranks fifth nationally in digs (6.35), and Yearout is fifth in assists (11.92).

Yearout and Geary were both unanimous GNAC all-star picks.

The trio helped the Vikings to a 23-3 regular-season record and their sixth GNAC title with a 16-2 ledger.
