Mt. Baker Ski Area will kick off its season at 9 a.m. Wednesday, Nov. 21 -operating out of White Salmon and Heather Meadows.

Mt. Baker will operate at least seven chair lifts, and only main runs will be open, ski area officials announced Tuesday afternoon.

Skiers and snowboarders should use caution on opening day because early season snow conditions will mean sudden changes in the terrain as well as patches of thin snow coverage around the ski area.

The bottom of Chair 5 and Chair 7 have low snow levels, so skiers and snowboarders should be extra cautious in those areas, according to the ski area.

As much as 13 inches of snow were possible starting overnight Tuesday and extending into the next couple of days, according to the ski area.
