BELLINGHAM - A day of holiday music, treats and Santa Claus combines with learning about local charities Nov. 29.
The fourth annual Whatcom Give-A-Thon will run from 11 a.m. to 6 p.m. at the Elks Lodge, 710 S. Samish Way.
Two dozen local nonprofit groups will be on hand to tell people about how they serve the community and list their specific needs. As people learn about local charities, they can listen to music, nosh on cookies and take free pictures with Santa Claus.
The annual event is organized by the Whatcom County Association of Realtors and supported by many local businesses. Organizers say it has raised more than $100,000 for local nonprofit groups in the last three years.
